Common generator problems we fix

The most frequent failures we see are fuel-related: stale gasoline that has varnished a carburetor after a rig sat all summer, clogged fuel filters, or failing lift pumps on diesel units. Next up are ignition components — spark plugs, coils, and stator issues that cause hard starts. And on older Onans especially, we see a lot of stuck brushes and dirty slip rings that make the generator crank fine but produce no voltage.

Full generator tune-ups on site

A proper tune-up is the single best way to extend the life of an RV generator. We do full-service tune-ups on-site: oil and filter change, air filter, spark plug (or injector inspection on diesel), fuel filter, and a real load-bank test to verify output under demand. Skip the tune-up and you'll pay for it later — a burned-out voltage regulator or fried stator costs many times what routine service does.
